Jack Ackman

June 6, 1926 - October 5, 2012

John Wesley "Jack" Ackman was born in Ohio on June 16, 1926 and passed away in Williamstown, Kentucky on October 5, 2012 at the age of 86. He was the son of the late William Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Makin Ackman.

On June 5, 1948, Jack was united in marriage with the former Beulah Gordon. From this union two children were born: Bill (Ruth) Ackman of Falmouth and Judy (Jerry) West of Dry Ridge. In addition to his loving wife and children, Mr. Ackman is survived by one sister, Shirley Taylor of Williamstown, four grandchildren: Shawn West, Heather Kightlinger, Carrie White and Julie Schultz; five great grandchildren: Kyle West, Abby West, Cole Kightlinger,Sophie Kightlinger and Dorian Whiteand many other relatives and friends. A sister, Dorothy Schroeder preceded Jack in death.

Jack was the parts manager for Piles Chevrolet in Williamstown for many years and had been an employee of Powers Home and Auto and the Firestone store in Williamstown. He carried the U.S. Mail for several years and served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. At the time of his passing he remained a long time member of the Williamstown Christian Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2012. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Williamstown Christian Church, 318 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.
