Jean Amburgey Reed

April 7, 1924 - September 16, 2012

Jean Amburgey Reed of Florence, formerly of Crittenden, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Villaspring of Erlanger Nursing Facility at the age of 88.

She was a retired school teacher of thirty six years with Grant County and Simon-Kenton High Schools. She was a member of the Crittenden Christian Church, the Kenton County Retired Teachers Association and the Williamstown Chapter #301 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, John (Phyllis) Reed of Crestview Hills, Ott (Sandy) Reed of Dry Ridge; a daughter, Carole (Jim Perry) Reed-Mahoney of Florence; a brother, Wesley Amburgey, Jr. of Harriman, TN; a sister, Edra Estes of Athens, GA, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Joe Schneider Reed; her parents, John Wesley (Sr.) and Lettie Caroline Hammons Amburgey; a brother, Glennis Amburgey and a sister, Alma Nycum.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Thursday with funeral service at 11am Friday, September 21 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 South Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Burial will be in the Crittenden Cemetery, Crittenden, KY.
