Marie Johns Brown Cruey

July 14, 1924 - June 3, 2014

Marie Johns Brown Cruey was born on Knoxville Road in Dry Ridge, Kentucky on July 14, 1924 and passed away at the residence of her granddaughter in Dry Ridge, Kentucky on June 3, 2014.She was the daughter of the late Homer and Etta Marie Wright Johns.

Mrs. Cruey was widowed by two husbands: Leonard Brown and Shirley Cruey.She is survived by her daughters: Lynn Groves of Berry and Ann Brown of Cincinnati, OH; son: Bill Brown of Dry Ridge; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Ethel Johns and Chester Johns and one sister, Vadis Simpson also preceded Marie in death.
A graduate of the Dry Ridge High School, Marie was a checker for the Levi Straus Corporation and a longtime member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cruey will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday.Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.Memorials are suggested to the Dry Ridge Baptist Church, 19 Broadway, Dry Ridge, KY 41035.
