Mrs. Caroline Vice Ransdell, a Williamstown resident, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the age of 105. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Theo K. McWhorter and Alva V. Ransdell and one son, James Douglas Ransdell.



Mrs. Ransdell was a graduate of the University of Kentucky in 1937. She was a former school teacher for the Grant Co., Dry Ridge and Williamstown School District for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Grant Co. Retired Teachers, State Representative of the Captain John Lillard Chapter N.S.D.A.R., Williamstown Woman''s Club, Grant County Historical Society, and the Alpha Delta Theta Education Association. She was a lifelong member of the Williamstown Baptist Church where she served as a church historian, former S.S. teacher, church library organizer and she also organized the BYKOTA Sunday school class.



Mrs. Ransdell is survived by two sons, Raymond K. McWhorter (Cynthia) of Georgetown, KY, Donald L. McWhorter of Naples, FL, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mary Bob Sebree who was treated as a daughter and cared for their mother for several years. The family would also like to sincerely thank Hospice of the Bluegrass in Florence, KY for their dedication, knowledge and professionalism in caring for their mother.



Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 3-6pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral services will be on Monday at 10am at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Williamstown Baptist Church, 214 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Rd., Florence, KY 41042.
