Danny K Akins

June 12, 1951 - April 28, 2016

Danny K. Akins was born June 12, 1951 in Pineville, Kentucky and passed away April 28, 2016 in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Fred and Clara Mahan Akins.

Danny was a retired brick mason and contractor and was a former extruder operator at Phillips Driscopipe in Williamstown. He was an Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. He was also a member of God's Community Church in Williamstown.

On Feb. 8, 1972 Danny was united in marriage to Margie Marie Garland Akins. In addition to his wife Danny is survived by a son: Brian Daniel Akins of Williamstown; a daughter: Angela Joyce Akins of Corinth; 9 grandchildren: Danielle Akins, Steven Akins, Morgan Shields, Kaley Akins, Hunter Akins, Levi Wade, Chevrolet Akins and Haylee Kendrick; and 3 great grandchildren: Gavin Fleming, Violet Combs and Ravyn Akins.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild: Harley Akins.

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be 5:00 - 9:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown with military honors being presented by Elsmere Honor Guard.
