Willard Ray Lykins, resident of Verona, was born in Cutuno, Kentucky in Magoffin County on December 26, 1943 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, Kentucky on December 19, 2013 at the age of 69. He was the son of the late William Orvel and Effie Annas Holbrook Lykins.


He was united in marriage with Sandra Rudd Lykins who passed away July 11, 2004. From this union three children were born: William Lykins of Verona, Anna First of Warsaw and Sandy Renaker of Verona. In addition to his lovingchildren, Ray is survived by two brothers: Edgar Lykins of Mt. Sterling and Darrell Lykins of Ghent; two sisters: Juanita Patrick of Salyersville and Carol Hanson of Verona; four grandchildren: Matthew First, Makenzie First, Lizzie Lykins and Zach Lykins and other relatives and friends.


Mr. Lykins retired from the F.H.Lawson company in Cincinnati where he served as a forklift operator. He was a member of the F. & A. M. Tadmore Lodge #108in Warsaw and loved the Amish lifestyle.


Masonic services followed by funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, Ky 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona. Memorials aer suggested to the Gallatin County Life Squad.
