Jouett Dean Faulkner, 91, a resident of Dry Ridge, KY, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Grant County, following a long illness.


Mr. Faulkner, a native of Powell Co., KY. , was one of a family of fourteen children born to the late Herbert Earl and Elsie Mae Perkins Faulkner.He was a 35 year union electrician with the IBEW and very proud U.S. Army veteran having served in the D-Day invasion of Omaha Beach.He was a member of Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Williamstown, Crittenden-Dry Ridge Lodge # 694, F & AM and a Kentucky Colonel.He had been recognized as the Grant County Veteran of the Year, was an avid fisherman and storyteller and was passionate about music.
On Dec. 24, 1947 Mr. Faulkner was united in matrimony with Mary Evalyn Simpson Faulkner.In addition to his devoted wife of nearly 66 years, he is survived by one son, Lee Clay (Janet) Faulkner, Williamstown, three daughters, Sharon (Lee) Cherry, Alice (Roger) Neumeister, and Tina (Mike) Dunn, all of Walton, KY, and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Faulkner, Williamstown.He was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Faulkner in 2000, four brothers, Billy, Leon Kaywood, Courtland, and Emery Faulkner, and three sisters, Nancy Mineo, Virginia and Mildred Faulkner.He is also survived by three brothers, Roger Faulkner, Latonia, Roy (Josephine) Faulkner, Independence and Jack (Barbara) Faulkner, Dry Ridge,and three sisters, Thelma Henry and Eva Croy, both of Dry Ridge, and Myrtle Chaney of Park Hills, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 - 9 P.M. Friday at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.The funeral will be 11 A.M. Saturday with military honors at the funeral home.Interment will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-North, Williamstown.Memorials are suggested to COTA (Children''s Organ Transplant Association) to benefit great grandson, Trenton, or Mt.
