Troy Bluford Tolliver, resident of Union, was born in Coal Good, Kentucky near Harlan, on January 24, 1925 and passed away at the Grant Center in Williamstown, Kentucky on October 12, 2014 at the age of 89.He was the son of the late John Henry and Esther Gross Tolliver.


Troy is survived by his wife, Joyce Lynn Hensley Tolliver; son, Dean Tolliver and his wife Teresa of Dry Ridge; daughter, Tracy Horn and her fiancé, Philip Leming of Montgomery, OH; brother, Melvin Tolliver of Vevay, IN; grandchildren: Rob Stanley, Kevin Tolliver, Jesse Tolliver, Andrew Horn and Evan Horn.One son, Steve Tolliver died in 2003 and brothers: Carson Tolliver and Ronnie Tolliver and sisters: June Vanover, Elsie Gasner, Ruby Simpson and Beulah Hasemeire all preceded Troy in death.
A veteran of the United States Navy during World War II, Mr. Tolliver was a member of the Steelworkers Union and worked for many years with William Powell Valve Co. He was a long time Scoutmaster with troops located at the Union Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fellowship of Believers in Florence, KY.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton - Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 PM.Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY.
