Gary Altman

April 3, 1953 - March 27, 2009

Garland Eugene Altman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 3, 1953 and passed away at the Hospice of Northern Kentucky in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky on March 27, 2009 at the age of 55. He was the son of the late Colson Birchard Altman and Joan Lorraine Hodge Altman.

On January 17, 1975 he was united in marriage with the former Laura Ann Hargis. From this union three children were born: Shalene Altman Lawrence of Crittenden, KY, Melissa Altman of Corinth, KY and Joshua Altman of Corinth, KY. In addition to his loving wife and children, Gary is survived by one brother: Brad Brennecke of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren: Kilian, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Gary and Lori Morgan; and many other reltiaves and friends.

Mr. Altman was a retired locomotive engineer for the CSX Railroad out of Louisville, KY. He formerly worked for the Penn Central Railroad and Conrail. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He served his country in Vietnam in the United State Army.

Funeral services will be held at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 2, 2009. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral at the Altman Family Cemetery in Keefer, KY.
