Betty Jones Turner

August 2, 1927 - March 4, 2009

Betty Jane Jones Turner was born in Newport, Kentucky in Campbell County on August 2, 1927 and passed away at her residence in Williamstown, Kentucky in Grant County on March 4, 2009 at the age of 81. She was the daughter of the late Murray Matthew and Mary Elizabeth "Marie" Grimsley Jones.

Mrs. Turner is survived by four sons: Ed Turner of Berry, KY, Ronnie Turner of Newport, KY, Paul Turner of Melbourne, KY and Ben Standfield of Dayton, KY; three daughters: Rose White of Casselberry, FL, Judy Morris of Williamstown, KY and Melody Hadden of Brooksville, KY; one brother: Lyle Jones of Newport, KY; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A daughter, Linda Fryman, five brothers: Murry Jones, Robert Jones, Walter Jones, Thomas Jones and Warren Jones; and two sisters: Elizabeth Wagner (Betty's Twin) and Shirley Overman all preceded Mrs. Turner in death.

Betty retired from the General Electric Company, Aviation Division in Evendale, Ohio after 15 years as an inspector. She loved to make quilts and provided meals and quilts to those in need, especially during Hurricane Andrew in Florida.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 PM Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will also be on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 5:00 PM until time of the funeral at 7:30 PM. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Kentucky on Saturday, March 7, 2009.
