Hillard Swangin

March 11, 1926 - February 20, 2009

Hillard Swangin was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on March 11, 1926 and passed away at his residence near Glencoe, Kentucky on February 20, 2009 at the age of 82. Mr. Swangin was the son of the late Thomas and Mayme Wilcox Swangin.

Mr. Swangin was united in marriage with Bertha Lee Hopper who preceded him in death in 1997. From this union, four sons: Jimmy Swangin, Tommy Swangin, Donald Swangin and Timmy Swangin all of Glencoe, Ky and four daughters: Shirley Hughes of Cincinnati, OH, Barbara Hartsock of Cincinnati, OH, Tammie Sandy of Milan, IN and Candy Patrick of Alexandria, KY were born. In addition to his children, Mr. Swangin is survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Hillard retired from the Security Fence Company in Cincinnati, Ohio where he was a fence installer. He attended the Concord Pentacostal Church in Gallatin County, KY.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton - Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home from Noon until 2:00 PM Monday. Burial will be in the Glencoe Cemetery, Glencoe, Kentucky.
