Emanuel R Balz

June 6, 1913 - January 31, 2009

Emanuel Robert Balz was born in Bromley, Kentucky on June 6, 1913 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY on January 31, 2009 at the age of 95. He was the son of the late John Philip and Ada Chadderton Balz.

Mr. Balz was a resident of Williamstown, Kentucky. He was united in marriage with the former Virginia Wright who has preceded him in death. From this union one daughter, Cuba Sawyer of Lexington, KY was born. In addition to his loving daughter Emanuel is survived by one granddaughter, Erin (David) Banks of Lexington, KY; three great grandchildren: Brandon Switzer, Anya Banks and Colin Banks and many other relatives and friends. Two sisters died prior to Mr. Balz: Lillian Rolfson and Anne Kaiser.

Mr. Balz served his country in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. He had been a security guard for the Grace-Davidson Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500N. Main St.,Williamstown, KY. The Visitation will be after 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. The burial will be in the Highlands Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
