GenevaLee Spenneberg, age 86, of Dry Ridge, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Born July 5, 1930, in Gallatin County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Gratia Skirvin. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Spenneberg, her son Jerry Spenneberg. and her grandson Terry Spenneberg Jr.
Geneva wore many hats over the years, most recently as a cook at Marlene's in Williamstown, a cook at the Grant County Fair, an election officer for 35 years, but she is most fondly remembered for her fifteen years at The Little Shrimp in Dry Ridge.
Genevawas a beloved member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church Family, and the Stewartsville Homemakers for over 35 years, where she served as treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her son Terry Spenneberg, her daughter Melody Burgess, and five grandchildren; Jason Spenneberg, Joe Spenneberg, Adam Perry, Timothy Burgess, and Simon Burgess. Three great-grandchildren; Brandon, Roman and Sophia. She is also survivedby two brothers; L.J. and, Bob Skirvin. and five sisters; Ruby Bramblett, Betty Harrison, Nancy Howard, Judy Hearne, and Brenda Martin along with several niecesand nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY followed by burial at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY. Visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the funeral home.
