John Allen "Joe" Marksberry

February 28, 1938 - November 17, 2016

John Allen "Joe" Marksberry of Williamstown was born February 28, 1938 in Sweet Owen, Kentucky and died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his residence at the age of 78.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Lola B. Roland Marksberry, a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired market manager for Suburban Propane, Williamstown, as well as owner/operator of Joe''s LP Service, and member of the Lystra Church of Christ. On November 10, 1961 he was united in marriage to his wife Mary Johnson Marksberry.

In addition to his wife Mary, also surviving is 1 daughter, Shelia J. (Larry Lynn) Carr of Corinth; 4 grandchildren, Christain Michelle Watt, Johnathon Brandon Hurley, Chelsea Jo Fitterer, and Robert Devin Fitterer; 4 Great-grandchildren, Colton Allen Todd Hurley, Emma Rose Watt, Payton Marie Hurley, and Jackson Walker Hurley; 2 brothers, Bobby and Paul Marksberry both of Williamstown; and 3 sisters, Clara Ackman and Catherine Mullins both of Williamstown, and Lola Horn of Lexington.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Williamstown Cemetery. Visitation will also be Monday 11:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
