Mary E. Blackburn Carnes Day of York, PA was born August 5, 1922 in Mt. Zion, KY and died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Mt. Joy, PA at the age of 94.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Lincoln and Mary Ruth Vest Blackburn, a retired accountant for the IRS, and a member of the Florence Baptist Church, and former member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother Howard Blackburn, and her husbands, Howard L. Carnes in 1972 and Thomas W. Day in 1988.

Surviving is 1 son, Rick Carnes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 1 daughter, Deborah Carnes Webster of York, PA; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00pm Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 1:00-3:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00am Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
