Prentice Haze Whitaker

January 23, 1942 - September 5, 2016

Mr. Prentice Haze Whitaker, born to the late Raymond and Edith Marsh Whitaker, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016 at the age of 74. He was the husband of Brenda Beach Whitaker.

Mr. Whitaker was an Air Force veteran, a Baptist minister whom headed a Spanish Ministry, a retired UK postal employee, former UK Hospital employee, and recently, a McDonalds employee in Georgetown.

In addition to his wifeBrenda,of 26 years, Mr. Whitaker is survived by three sons, John Whitaker of Orlando, FL, Peter Whitaker (Heather) of Boise, ID, Terry Clifton (Sherry) of Walton, KY, three daughters, Scarlett Whitaker of Boise, ID, Rebecca Ridener of Orlando, FL, Tracy Spitzer (Christopher) of Dry Ridge, KY, three brothers, Jeff Whitaker of Cynthiana, KY, Truman Whitaker of Connersville, GA, Glen Whitaker of Port Charlotte, FL, one sister, Stella Hill of Berry, KY, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, from 5-8 pm at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge, KY. Funeral services for Mr. Whitaker will be on Friday at 11 am with a lie in state from 10-11am at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Dry Ridge. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY. Memorials are suggested to the church or charity of the donor's choosing.
