Gary G. Bates of Walton, KY was born Dec. 20, 1950 in Lexington, KY, and died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his residence at the age of 58.

Gary was the son of the late Donald Gene Bates, and LeaEtta Purcell Mercer of Erlanger, KY. He was a truck driver for the M & K Express in Walton, KY. Gary was united in marriage to Cindy Kirk Bates on March 13, 1976.

In addition to his wife of 33 years and hismother, Gary is survived by 1 son, Christopher Wade Bates of Erlanger, KY; 1 daughter, McKenna G. Bates of Walton, KY; 2 grandchildren; and 1 sister Pamela Barker of Milford, OH.

Services will be Wednesday at 2:00pm at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY, with burial in the Antioch Church Cemetery, Keefer, KY. Visitation will be after 11:00am Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
