Raymond Paul Luce was born in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1933 and passed away at his residence in Avon, Indiana on September 12, 2009 at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Clifford Joseph and Gertrude Taylor Luce.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Mary Alice Scott; three sons: George Luce of Vincennes, IN, Stephen P. Luce of Vincennes, IN and Pat Luce of Avon, IN; one daughter: Mary Bloom of Vincennes, IN; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends. One son, Clifford Luce passed away June 16, 2006. Two brothers also preceded him indeath: Joe Luce and George Luce.
Mr. Luce was a 1950 graduate of the PortAlleganyHigh School in Pennsylvania where he was class president. He was a division manager for several electrical contractors including Hoosier Engineering, L. E. Meyers Engineering and Miller Construction where he was President. Mr. Luce served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 years during the Korean War. He was a member of the Bloomfield, Pennsylvania V.F.W., a former member of the I.B.E.W., past president of the National Electrical Contractors Association and remained a member of the Divine Mercy of Merritt Island, Florida Catholic Parish.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the All Saints Catholic Church, 62 Needmore St., Walton, KY 41094. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent Hospice 8450 N. Payne Rd., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Verona, KY 41092.
