Ernest James Smith

February 3, 1932 - January 18, 2016

Ernest James Smith was born February 3, 1932 in Napoleon, Kentucky and passed away January 18, 2016 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl D. and Missy Smith.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a retired Truck Driver for Commercial Lovelace. He was also former co-owner of G & S Overhead Door. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially fishing.

He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Garnet Peare Smith of Florence; two sons: Ricky Lee Smith of Port Charlotte, FL and Sandy Ray Smith (Tammy) of Florence, KY; five grandchildren: Linette Miller, Christina Young, Benjamin Smith, Michelle Smith and William Smith; and 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.
