Larry L Carter

January 16, 1936 - September 3, 2009

Larry Lee Carter was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on January 16, 1936 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky on September 3, 2009 at the age of 73. He was the son of the late Harold Ernest and Willetta True Carter.

On June 14, 1972 he was united in marriage with the former Nancie Patricia McCoy. In addition to his loving wife, Larry is survived by two daughters: Darlene Sharon Carter of Williamstown, KY and Sheila Ann Kelly of Bulverde, TX; three sons: Earnest Lee Carter of Williamstown, KY, Aaron P. Carter of Dry Ridge, KY and Shaun McCoy Knight of Williamstown, KY; one sister, Deana Hale of Williamstown, KY, eleven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A son, Michael Shane Knight preceded him in death on January 23, 2006. An infant brother, Teddy Carter also preceded Larry in death.

Mr. Carter served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent in the military police during the Vietnam War. He later worked in security with the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Kentucky State Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Dry Ridge Christian Church Building Fund.
