Louis Junior Marquette was born in Goforth, Kentucky in Pendleton County on May 15, 1919 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center in Edgewood, Kentucky in Kenton County on April 28, 2009 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late Mary Lee Gulick and Louis Ransom Marquette, Sr.
Louis was united in marriage with the former Wanda Opal Marquette who preceded him in death on October 21, 1983. From this union one daughter, Barbara Baker of Wasilla, Alaska and one son, Robert L. Marquette of West Chester, Ohio were born. In addition to his loving children,Mr. Marquette leaves three sisters: Pat Henderson andMarylena Estridge, both of Williamstown, KY and Laura Wagers,of Dayton, OH; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers: Richard Marquette and John "Brack" Marquette and two sisters: Pauline Juett and Ada Louise Lowe died earlier.
Mr. Marquette was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church. Louis worked for the Kentucky Department of Highways and the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps in which he served his country during World War II.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 with visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center or the Williamstown Baptist Church Building Fund.
