DRY RIDGE, KY- James 'Jay' McCoy IV, died of an apparent heart attack on Thursday, January 1st, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Grant County at the age of 40 years, 0 months, and 9 days.
Mr. McCoy is a high school graduate of Covington Catholic and furthered his education with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Thomas More College. Jay worked for Channel 5 news as a sports writer forfive years, and then went to work at Toyota Automotive Manufacturing in Georgetown, KY as a team leader for the past eleven years.
Jay dearly loved to hunt, fish, play basketball, loved watching the Bengals as well as the UC Bearcats. He also had a passion for motorcycles but most of all loved his wife and two daughters. His brother quickly identified Jay as a 'family man'.
Mr. McCoy is one of two sons born to the late James William McCoy III and Barbara Kampsen McCoy. On March 19, 1994, Mr. McCoywas united in marriage,and survived byhis lovely wife, Vicki Humphress McCoy. Jay and Vicki shortly after were blessed with two beautiful daughters Karlyn and Kelcie McCoy. In addition to his wife and two daughters, Jay is survived by his grandmother, Mildred McCoy of Ft. Wright, KYand his brother, Dean R. McCoy, of Burlington, KY.
Visitation for Mr. McCoy will be from 1 p.m.to 3 p.m.on Sunday, January 4th, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral Services will also be on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Paul Bodenhamer will be officiating the service and the burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.
