O'vida Faye Thomas Young

November 25, 1932 - December 18, 2008

O'vida Faye Thomas Young was born Nov. 25, 1932 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at Florence, Kentucky at the age of 76. She was one of five children born to the late Lillian Leona Skirvin and Ralph Leroy Thomas, Sr. She was reared in Gallatin County and a graduated from the Gallatin County High School.

On April 19, 1952 O'vida was united in marriage with Robert Elton Young who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 24, 1995 following more than 43 years of marriage. She was a member of the Paint Lick Baptist Church in Warsaw, Kentucky, and was an in home caregiver.

O'vida is survived by her daughter, Sharon C. Young Finfrock of Dry Ridge, three sons, Troy E. Young, of Dry Ridge, Ronald L. Young, of Morning View, and Dallas L. Young, of Dry Ridge; one brother, Donald S. Thomas, of Patriot, In.; one sister, Barbara Ann Jones, of Oiltrough, Ar.; four grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are 2:00 pm Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, Kentucky. Visitation is 5:00pm - 8:00pm Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, atthe funeral home. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, Kentucky.
