James (Red) Mullins

James Edward Mullins was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky in Pike County on September 27, 1941 and passed away at his home in the Cordova Community in Grant County, Kentucky on January 5, 2015 at the age 73. An only child, Mr. Mullins was the son of the late James Ernest and Aileen Mutter Mullins.


On August 29, 1969, James was united in marriage with the former Judith Margot Gill. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Janessa Renee (Jeremy) Fryman of Berry; his sons: Jason Scott (Amy) Mullins of Berry, Jody Allen (Miranda) Mullins of Berry and Jarrod Stephen Mullins of Berry; seven grandchildren: Jacob Fryman, Sarah Mullins, Justin Fryman, Kendall Mullins, Nikolas Mullins, Emma Mullins and Wesley Mullins.


"Red" as he was widely known was a retired crane operator for the Interlake Steel Corporation in Newport, Kentucky and a former long distance truck driver.


Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday. Burial will be in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the Stringtown Christian Church.
