Louise Benton Bonar, a Walton, KY resident, was born on June 2, 1928 in Red House, KY and died at her residence on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the age of 86.She was the daughter of the late John and Ora Lee Cornelison Benton.

Mrs. Bonar was the Co-Owner with her husband James I. Bonar, of the Benton-Bonar Department Store in Walton for 38 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Walton where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher and W. M. U. member.

On May 1, 1946, Louise was united in marriage to James Ingram Bonar who preceded her in death on February 5, 2012.

Mrs. Bonar is survived by her son, John Bonar (Barbara) of Lakeside Park, her daughter, Jayme Bridges (James) of Walton, her sister Hazel Benton Spegal of Demossville, six grandchildren, Katie Lovan (Frank) Kluge, Alexandra Bonar, Ian Bonar, James Bonar-Bridges, Justin Bonar-Bridges, January Bonar-Bridges, and caregiver, Christy Browning of Independence, KY.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Benson, her brother, John Christopher Benton, Jr., and a granddaughter, Amber Lee Benson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Walton.Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM Thursday until time of service.Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona. Hamilton- Stanley Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.
