Inez Ransdell Valentine

May 4, 1919 - November 25, 2014

Inez Ransdell Valentine was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on May 4, 1919 and passed away at the Florence Park Care Center in Florence, Kentucky on November 25, 2014 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eunice Vest Ransdell.

On September 6, 1937 Inez was united in marriage to James Milton "Buck" Valentine who preceded her in death on January 27, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Samantha (Jeff) Colson of Williamstown; her granddaughter, Lauren (Mike) Brown of Norfolk, Virginia; her grandson, Jeffery Colson II of Covington and her granddaughters, Amelia Kate Brown and Eloise Claire Brown. Two brothers, Alva Vest Ransdell and Estil Ransdell both died earlier.

A member of the Williamstown Baptist Church, Mrs. Ransdell was a 1936 graduate of Williamstown High School. She was active in her community through many businesses. She was the formerowner and operator of Valentine's Beauty Shop, co-owner of Valentine's 5, 10 and 1.00 Store and owned and operated the Merle Norman Cosmetics in Florence Mall. She had earlier been a telephone operator for Citizens Bell for over 22 years.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY, 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Burial will follow later at the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Williamstown Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Williams Catholic Church.
