Lula June Poor Jenkins was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky on March 16, 1925 and passed away at the Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown, Kentucky in Grant County on November 18, 2008 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the lateHorace Juett and Nellie MooreJenkins.


On March 5, 1949 Mrs. Jenkins was united in marriage with Raymond Matthew Jenkins who preceded his wife of 55 years in death on February 18, 2004. From this union two children were born. Her daughter Claudine Jenkins died at the early age of 5 on March 1, 1955. She is survived by her loving son: Steven Jenkins of Williamstown, KY; her devoted brother: Charles Poor of Spring Hill, Florida and many other relatives and friends. Two sisters died as infants: Mary Louise Poor and Evelyn Christine Poor.


Mrs. Jenkins attended the Roanoke Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Pendleton County, Kentucky. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY with visitation at the funeral home from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Friday. Burial will follow in the Gum Lick Cemetery, Pendleton County, Kentucky.
