Claude "CC" Dance Jr

May 19, 1925 - October 10, 2008

Claude Calvin Dance, Jr. better known as "C.C." passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at his residence in Lexington, KY at the age of 83. He was born in Morgan in Pendleton County, Kentucky on May 19, 1925 to the late Claud Calvin and Florinda C. Peebles Dance.

He is survived by his wife: Carrie Ruth Denny Dance; four sons: Barry Dance, D. Craig Dance, Doug Dance and Brad Dance; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His first wife, Susan Evelyn Newton Dance preceded C.C. in death in 1993. A daughter, Claudia died as an infant in 1961 while his brother Raymond and his sister Naomi Dean Franklin passed away in 1995.His sister Emma Lou Bailey died in 2003.

C.C. was the transportation manager for Dance Freightlines and Consolidated Freightways for over 42 years. He served his industry as Vice President for the American Trucking Association in Kentucky. Claude remained a member of the Gumlick Baptist Church in Pendleton County. He graduated from the Morgan High School.

Funeral servuices will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY with visitation on Sunday from 3 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Erlanger, KY Memorials may be made to the Gumlick Baptist Church or the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
