Marjorie Ambrose Baker Scudder was born in Gallatin County near Warsaw, Kentucky on April 23, 1925 and passed away at the St. Luke Hospital West in Florence, Kentucky on September 26, 2008 at the age of 83. She continued to live only a few yards from where she was born. Marjorie was the daughter of the late William Francis and Eunice Irene Ambrose Baker.


She was united in marriage with Earl "Dutch" Scudder who preceded her in death. From this union one son survives: Joe Scudder. Her daughter, Betty Lou Schooler passed away December 21, 2006. In addition to her loving son, Mrs. Scudder is survived by 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildrena and many other relatives and friends.


Mrs. Scudder served her community as a custodian and bus driver for the Gallatin County Schools for many years. She was a member of the Southfork Christian Church where she had served as custodian. She also was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ghent #441 in Warsaw, KY.


Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 29, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY with Bro. Bob Hightchew and Rev. Kyle McDanell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Monday. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Southfork Christian Church.
