Gary Collins

January 22, 1943 - June 16, 2013

Gary Brent Collins, resident of Dry Ridge, was born in Folsom, Kentucky on January 22, 1943 and passed away at the Florence Park Care Center in Florence, Kentucky on June 16, 2013 at the age of 70. He was the son of the late John C. Breckinridge and Kathryn Virginia Jump Collins.

On June 22, 1968, Gary was united in marriage with Nancy Lee Justice. In addition to his loving wife of nearly 45 years, he is survived by one daughter: Lori Lee Combs of Warsaw; two sons: Brent Scott Collins of Dry Ridge and Aaron Michael Collins of Dry Ridge; one brother: Glenn Burton Collins of Harrodsburg and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Collins was a purchasing agent for Aeroflo, Clow, Sweco and Keco.A member of the Vine Run Baptist Church, Mr. Collins was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Grant County High School and attended the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University and Thomas More College from which he received his degree.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 under the direction of Rev. Rick Haggett. Visitation will be 5:00 - 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
