WILLIAMSTOWN - James Woodrow Cook, 92, was born in Owen County, KY on Dec. 31, 1917 to the late Ernest and Eva Clifton Cook, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Williamstown, KY.
Woodrow separated from the Army on Jan. 7, 1946 after serving over three years of service with almost a year in theater during WW II. Soon after, he was united in marriage on May 31, 1946 to his lovely wife Viola Frances Abbott.
Woodrow farmed his entire life and was a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church, Williamstown, KY and was a Farm Bureau Director for many years.
Woodrow is survived by his wife Viola Abbott Cook of Williamstown, KY, as well as two daughters, Shirley F. Wilson (Sonny), and Brenda J. Fornash (Roger) both of Dry Ridge, KY, oneson James "Kenny" Cook of Pinellas Park, Florida, one sister Opal Jean Reading of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown, KY. Funeral Services will also be Friday at 1 pm. Burial will follow with military honors at the KY Veterans Cemetery North, in Williamstown, KY.
