Evelyn Jones

October 2, 1916 - March 7, 2010

Evelyn Jessica White Jones, of Union, KY,was born in Brantley, Alabama on October 2, 1916 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, KY on March 7, 2010 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Charlie L. and Marthie Elvire Johnson White.

On November 7, 1957 Evelyn was united in marriage with Cosby Jones. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by one son: John Jones of Florence, KY; six grandchildren: James Armstrong, Terri Marsh, william Jackson, Trisha Reed, Phyllis Nally and Corey Trader; several great and great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Two children preceded Mrs. Jones in death: William Charles Armstrong and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Littrell. Two sisters also predeceased Evelyn: Mary Alice White and Annie Lou Green. She was a nurse's aide atSt. Elizabeth and formerly at Maxwell Field Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL In later years she worked in several laundry mats in Florence and Ft. Wright, KY. She served as a Voting Poll Monitor for the Big Bone Park location. Evelyn was a member of the St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Union, KY.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North, Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
