Mary Frances Vallandingham Sowder

Frances Vallandingham Sowder of Williamstown, KYwas born September 22, 1923, in Dry Ridge, KY. She passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, in Williamstown, KY at the age of 86.

She was the daughter of the late Benamin Franklin and Mary Eliza King Vallandingham, a retired school cook for the Mason Elementary School, a homemaker, and a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church. Frances was united in marriage to the late Cannon Sowder on July 20, 1946.

She is survived by 2 sons, Joseph M. Sowder of Beavercreek, OH and Gerald T. Sowder of Crittenden, KY; 1 daughter Laura Katherine Sowder of Williamstown, KY; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Frances was the last surviving and youngest of 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Frances will be 2:00pm Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, in Williamstown, KY, burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the funeral home.
