Jerry Purnell

February 12, 1952 - December 31, 2015

Jerry Lincoln Purnell was born in Grant County, Kentucky on February 12, 1952 and passed away at his home in Crittenden, Kentucky on December 31, 2015 at the age of 63. He was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Leola Middleton Purnell.

On July 11, 1999, Jerry was united in marriage with Mary Ruth Beach. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Robert Allen Wagers of Owenton and Jerry Lee Purnell of Dry Ridge; four daughters: Patty Beach of Corinth, Christina Switzer of Corinth, Susan Purnell of Dry Ridge and Emma Purnell of Dry Ridge; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; three brothers: Raymond Harrison Purnell of Corinth, Lawrence "Toby" Purnell of Dry Ridge and Edward K. Purnell of Crittenden; two sisters: Darlene Barnes of Corinth and Anna Belle Abner of Aurora, IL and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Purnell was preceded in death by brothers: Charlie Webster and Bill Purnell and sisters: Mary Purnell and Vertie Mae Webster.

A member of the Sherman Full Gospel, Jerry was a mechanic and did lawn maintenance. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N.Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 with visitation at the funeral home from Noon until 3:00 PM Wednesday. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
