Dorothy B Skirvin

Dorothy B. Carter Skirvin of Williamstown, Kentuckywas born in Lexington, Kentucky on April 26, 1925 and passed away at the Baptist Village Care Center in Erlanger, Kentucky on October 16, 2010 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Julius Absolum and Nina Imogene Clark Carter.

On October 15, 1943, Dorothy B. was united in marriage with Nelson Eugene Skirvin who died on April 12, 1997. From this union a son, Steven Jay Skirvin of Rotterdam, Holland and four daughters, Sharon Ann Jones of Maryville, TN, Stella Marie Osborne of Florence, KY, Margaret Jeanne Skirvin of Pinehurst, NC and Jennifer Susanne Hoffman of Burlington, KY survive. A son, Nelson Skirvin, Jr. and a daughter,Lydia Ellen Hill both preceded their mother in death. In addition to her loving children, Mrs. Skirvin is survived by 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Skirvin was a custodian at the Williamstown Independent Schools and a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church for 73 years. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2010 with visitation on Tuesday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Memorials are suggested to the Williamstown Baptist Church Building Fund, 214 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.
