Ella Lawson Simpson

January 10, 1929 - December 25, 2016

Ella Lawson Simpson was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on January 10, 1929 to the late Roy Edgar and Mary Betty Lewis Lawsonand passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice on December 25, 2016 at the age of 87.

On September 15, 1949, Ella was united in marriage with Billy Frank Simpson, whodied on January 10, 2012. From this union three daughters survive: Connie O'Neill and her husband, Larry, of Dry Ridge, Pat Lower and her husband, Jerry of Dry Ridge and Cathy Taylor and her husband, Mike, of Williamstown. Mrs. Simpson is also survived by her sisters: Betty McClanahan of Greendale, Wisconsin, Odella Delaney of Mason, Sylvia Shetler of Florence, Bernice Bennett of Williamstown, Beulah True of Cynthiana and Mabel Simpson of Williamstown;8 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. A brother, Roy Lawson, Jr. and two sisters: Florene Lucas and Julia Cash all died earlier.

A member of the Grassy Run Baptist Church for many years, Mrs. Simpson was active throughout the community. She served as secretary for the Grant County Judge, worked in the Grant Circuit Clerk's Office and had been secretary at Piles Chevrolet Co.

Funeral services for Mrs. Simpson will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
