Marie Lawrence

April 30, 1923 - July 2, 2010

Alice Marie Lawrence was born in Grant County, Kentucky on April 30, 1923 and passed away at the Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, North Carolina on July 2, 2010 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Mabel Scroggins.

On November 19, 1941, Marie was united in marriage with Albert Everett Lawrence who preceded her in death on October 2, 2006. From this union 2 sons: Ronald E. Lawrence of Phoenix, Arizona and Ralph E. Lawrence of Statesville, North Carolina survive. One son, Ray E. Lawrence preceded his mother in death in 1986. She is also survived by a sister, Wanda McDonald of Phoenix, Arizona and a brother, Walter Haines of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. At the time of her passing Mrs. Lawrence remained a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Williamstown, KY.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 with visitation at the funeral home on Sunday July 11, 2010 from Noon until 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY 41097. Memorials may be made to the Concord Baptist Church, Dry Ridge, KY or the American Cancer Society.
