Mary Inez Furnish

December 4, 1908 - June 4, 2010

Mary Inez Morris Atha Furnish was born on December 4, 1908 in Gallatin Co., Kentucky to the late David Allen and Edna Cathern Hopperton Morris and passed away June 4, 2010 in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 101 years and 6 months.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Elmer Atha in 1945 and Harry Malcolm Furnish in 1982. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Berniedeen Pash; a son: Elmer Atha, Jr.; her brother: Jimmy Morris; and her sister: Emma Frances Cluster.

Mary is survived by two sons: William A. Atha, Sr. of Florence, and Robert Lee "Bobby" Atha of Williamstown; one daughter: Marcella Fay Calendar of Carrollton; 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and 15 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was a Nurse at Longview State Hospital and was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Dry Ridge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Furnish will be Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
