Harold Gene Covey was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on August 7, 1948 and passed away at his home in Williamstown, Kentucky on May 22, 2010 at the age of 61. He was the son of Harold Edward and Wanda Ruth Pence Covey of Dry Ridge.


In addition to his loving parents "Butch" is survived by his wife of 32 years, June Griffin Covey; his sons: Mark Jason Covey of Lenoxburg, KY and Craig Douglas Covey of Williamstown, KY; his sisters: Rita Fay Gabbard and her husband, John of Independence, KY and Patricia Ann Mann and her husband William of Dry Ridge, KY; his brother: Terry Edward Covey of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren: Zackary, Brittany, Bryson and Gavin and many other relatives and friends.


"Butch" was well known as an auto mechanic throughout Grant County. He operated a service station for many years in Williamstown and later in Dry Ridge. He served his country in the Military Police in Vietnam as a part of the United States Army.


Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Burial will follow at the KentuckyVeterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
