Helen Caine Marksbury Webb was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on November 11, 1915 and passed away at the Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown, Kentucky on August 3, 2009 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Frank Tunis and Lucie Catherine Harrison Marksbury.


On November 23, 1937 Helen was united in marriage with Jefferson Edgar Webb who preceded her in death on December 15, 2002. She is survived by four daughters: Mary Margaret Mullins of Bowling Green, KY, Helen Harrison Webb of Williamstown, KY, Cynthia Smith of Virginia Beach, VA and Lucie Catherine Clemons of Williamstown, KY; two sons: Jefferson E. Webb, II of Cincinnati, OH and William F. Webb of Annapolis, MD; eighteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.


Mrs. Webb was a charter member of the Grant County Homemakers, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Grant County Womans Club, and the American Red Cross. She was past president of the Grant County Historical Society. She graduated from the Williamstown High School in 1933 and from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH. She was the Public Health Nurse for Grant County for over 17 years and retired in 1978.


The Funeral Mass will be held at the St. William Catholic Church, 6 Church St., Williamstown, KY, 41097 on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2009 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. William Catholic Church, 6 Church St., Williamstown, KY 41097, Grant County Historical Society, c/o Ms. Betty Barnes, 12 Charlotte Hts., Williamstown, KY 41097 or Good Samaritan College of Nursing, P. O. Box 633640, Cincinnati, OH 45263.
