Charles Richard Tillett, of Williamstown, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 24, 1936 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY on July 27, 2009 at the age of 72. He was the son of the late Stanley and Stella Frances Workman Tillett.


On March 30, 1957, Richard was united in marriage with the former Leona Mae Utz who preceded him in death on February 1, 2008. From this union three daughters: Pam Pennington of Dry Ridge, KY, Paula Brinkman of Mattoon, IL and Sherry Hornsby of Dry Ridge, KY and one son: David "Bud" Tillett of Williamstown, KYwere born. Inaddition to his loving children, Richard is survived by four brothers: David Tillett of Burlington, KY,Bill Tillett of Dry Ridge, KY, Stanley "Mickey" Tillett of Ft. Thomas, KY andRev. Paul Tillett of Hamilton, OH; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. One brother, Phillip Tillett and two sisters, Joan Donahue and Betty Wallsdied previously.


Mr. Tillett was retired from the City of Williamstown Street Department and formerly worked for Mehl Manufacturing and Litton Industries. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War and a member of the Fairview Christian Church.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 11:00 AM until time of the service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery, Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 483 South Loop Rd., Edgewood, KY 41017.
