Mahala Couch Asher

Mahala Couch Asher of Cincinnati, Ohio, was born March 11, 1911 in Hyden, Kentucky. She passed away at the Three Rivers Nursing & Rehab. Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the age of 98.

Mahala was the daughter of the late Bige Couch and Fannie Asher Couch. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Christian Church of God, Hamilton,Ohio.

Mahalawas the widow of Doy Asher. She is survived by two daughters, Louise Benitez of South Newport, Kentucky and Georgia Ellis of Newport, Kentucky; two sons, William Asher and Danny Asher, both ofCincinnati, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; many great-gandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Three children preceded Mrs. Asher in death: Shirley West, Robert Asher and Monroe Asher.

Services will be Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton- Verona Rd., Verona, Kentucky 41092. Visitation will also be Friday, July 8, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, Kentucky.
