Buford "Boots" Wainscott

October 19, 1915 - June 11, 2009

Buford F. "Boots" Wainscott was born in Owen County, Kentucky on October 19, 1915 and passed away at the Owenton Manor Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owenton, Kentucky on June 11, 2009 at the age of 93. He was the son of the late Willie B. and Adah Stamper Wainscott.

He is the widower of Eunice Kinman Harp Wainscott who passed away in 1961 and of Mamie Jones Wainscott who died in 2001. He is survived by five children: Ella Crosswaite of Williamstown, KY, Rose Dunn of Berry, KY, William Wainscott of Dry Ridge, KY, Gene Wainscott of Williamstown, KY and Wayne Wainscott of Williamstown, KY; one brother: Jimmie Wainscott of Owenton, KY; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Five sisters preceded Buford in death: Glenna Rose Osburn, Florence Elmo O'Banion, Marcella Michael, Faye Duvall and Anna Webster.

Mr. Wainscott was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY. Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church.
