Harvey L Allen

September 25, 1926 - June 9, 2009

Harvey Louis Allen was born in Fayetteville, Ohio on September 25, 1926 and passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 9, 2009 at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Louis Phineas and Mary Roades Allen.

Harvey was united in marriage with Hazel Fields on May 25, 1978 who preceded him in death on June 6, 2007. He is survived by one daughter, Sherry Pflanzer of Jamestown, OH; one son, Kenney Allen of Crestview, FL; four stepsons, Lenton V. Woolley, Jr. of Dry Ridge, KY, Phillip "Butch" Berwanger of Jamestown, OH, Robert Berwanger of Defuniak Springs, FL and Raymond Berwanger of Lynchburg, OH; three stepdaughters, Barbara Cottengim of Meridian, MS, L. Elaine Plunkett of Dry Ridge, KY and Donna McKinney of Defuniak Springs, FL; three sisters, Grace Montgomery of Lynchburg, OH, Wilma Rankin of Georgetown, OH and Mary "Bitty" Shaffer of Hillsboro, OH; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Allen was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at the Hillside Chapel, 525 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45220. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association. Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 are in charge of arrangements.
