Janet Roland

July 27, 1941 - August 12, 2013

Janet Marie Roland was born in Beckley, West Virginia on July 27, 1941 and passed away at her residence in Sevierville, Tennessee on August 12, 2013 at the age of 72. She was a former resident of Independence, Kentucky and the daughter of the late Ira Clarence and Rena Marinda Bennett Sturdivant.

On August 1, 1959, Janet was united in marriage with Ottis "Dino" Dean Roland. From this union six children were born: Tina Closson of Sevierville, TN, Lisa Dale Roland of Wooton, KY, Betty Jean Cottrell of Sevierville, TN, Roger Roland of Sevierville, TN, Ottis Roland, Jr. of Sevierville, TN and Ira Roland of Paris, KY. In addition to her loving husband of 54 years and her dear children,Mrs. Roland is survived by brothers: Clarence Sturdivant of Crestview, FL and Roger Sturdivant of Dry Ridge, KY; sisters: Betty Howard of Florence, KY and Dale Matlock of Independence, KY; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A member of the Church of God, Mrs. Roland was a machine operator for the Duro Paper Bag Company in Ludlow, Kentucky. Visitation will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 from Noon until 3:00 PM at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday with burial in the Williamstown Cemetery, Williamstown, KY.
