Cherie G. (Ganoe) LoDestro, 71, of Crittenden Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, peacefully in her home.
Born September 20, 1945, in Clearfield Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Blair B. and Melva E. (Haney) Ganoe.
Cherie was a homemaker and worked at various banks and restaurants in the Buffalo, N.Y. area.
She enjoyed a passion for politics, home improvement projects, the Grant County and Walton Verona school music programs, and had an undeniable humility, compassion, and love for others. More than anything, Cherie encouraged, loved, and cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family.
Surviving are four children, Teresa R. (LoDestro) Ricotta, Anthony J. (Tina) LoDestro, both of Buffalo N.Y., Charles P. LoDestro, and David L. LoDestro, both of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Blair "Dave" Ganoe, of South Williamsport, Wally (Margie) Ganoe, of Texas, Ed (Barb) Ganoe, of Tennessee, Vic (Kathy) Ganoe, of North Carolina, Sandy (Lee) Collar, of New York, Dan (Donna) Ganoe, of New York, and Cleo (Bob) Smith, of New York; a sister-in-law, Barb Ganoe, of South Williamsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and Dearest Friend, Ed Burtis, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Ganoe and Homer "Joe" Ganoe and sister Mary C. Price.
In keeping with her wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
