Louise Stephens

July 25, 1924 - December 25, 2016

Dorothy Louise Courtney Stephens was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky on July 25, 1924 and passed away in Lexington, Kentucky on December 25, 2016 at the age of 92.  She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Alexander and Julia Frances Gillespie Courtney.

On December 30, 1944, Louise was united in marriage with Paul Wilson Stephens who preceded her in death on December 4, 1998.  From this union, two daughters were born: Paula Bush of Lexington and Phyllis Hickey of Lexington.  In addition to her two daughters, Mrs. Stephens is survived by two grandsons: William Paul Campbell and Jonathon Bush; two great granddaughters: Katherine Campbell and Sarah Campbell and one great great grandson: Caleb Campbell.  A brother, Howard Courtney also preceded her in death.

A graduate of the Butler High School in 1942, Louise was a member of the Williamstown Christian Church and retired from the Williamstown Police Department in 1986 where she had been a dispatcher for over 13 years.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097.  Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Home Health Hospice.
