Mr. Bobby K. Burke of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Thursday, December 1 at St. Elizabeth Grant County at the age of 79. Mr. Burke was born November 16, 1937 in Slavings, KY. to the late Glen Burke and Annalee Corder Burke. Mr. Burke was an over the road truck driver. He had been a school teacher many years ago and served as a state trooper for 10 years with the Kentucky State Police at Post 6, Dry Ridge. During his time in the KSP he received many commendations including a marksman award he was quite proud of. Mr. Burke served for several years in the National Guard. Mr. Burke was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Wayne County, KY. He was a big NASCAR fan and once had the opportunity to drive a race car around the Daytona Speedway. When not driving trucks, he enjoyed buying, selling and rebuilding trucks.
Mr. Burke leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Sharon Colson Burke, a son: Steven Burke and his wife Tracey of Bowling Green, KY., a daughter: Amy Burke of Williamstown, KY., a stepdaughter: Julie Stewart of Walton, KY., 2 sisters: Carolyn Ramsey of London, KY., Shirley Hicks of Monticello, KY., and he was blessed with 3 grandchildren: Caine Burke, Thomas Burke and Quinn Burke.
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Burke will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 6 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be there on Tuesday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
