Florence Lanter

February 12, 1916 - October 29, 2016

Mary Florence Ruth Lanter was born in Walton, Kentucky on February 12, 1916 and passed away at VillaSprings of Erlanger on October 29, 2016 at the age of 100.  She was the daughter of the late George William and Mary (Mollie) Pearl Florence Ruth.

Florence married Walter Carl Lanter on December 24, 1935 who preceded her in death in 2002.  From this union, one daughter, Carla Ruth Lanter Cooper was born.  In addition to her loving daughter, Mrs. Lanter is survived by her son-in-law Steve and several nieces and nephews.  Two brothers also preceded her in death: William Ruth and Fred Ruth.  An active member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church, she served many years as church treasurer.  She was the Vice President of the Citizens Bank in Dry Ridge for over 40 years  and remained a life member of the Williamstown Woman's Club.  Years earlier she and her husband owned and operated  "Bluegrass Barbecue" restaurant in Dry Ridge.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Dry Ridge Christian Church.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the church.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.  Memorials are suggested to the Dry Ridge Christian Church.
