Mr. Carman Wayne Lafferty, a Lebanon, OH resident, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Hospice of Butler/Warren in Ohio at the age of 80.
Mr. Lafferty was a graduate of Holmes High School, and went on to receive his Bachelors of Naval Science at the University of Louisville. He then enlisted in the Navy and retired from the Naval Active Reserves as a Lt. Commander. He was a member of the Urban Crest Baptist Church in Lebanon, OH, and the American Legion of Mason, OH. He was a patriot at heart and loved to spend as much time as possible with his family. He loved family picnics, gatherings, reunions and anything that involved friends and family.
Mr. Lafferty was born on August 22, 1936 to the late Carl Lafferty and Kathleen Beach Annes. He was preceded in death by his first wife Helene Lafferty but survived by their two sons, Gary Lafferty of Indiana, Terry Lafferty (Mariefe) of Lebanon, OH, and daughter Cheri Fultz (Mark) of Lewisville, IN. Wayne was also preceded in death by his second wife Debbie Lafferty and survived by two stepdaughters, Tracy Shedd of Maineville, OH and Kim Sellers (Ken) of Lebanon, OH. He is also survived by his companion Diana Craine, one brother, Ken Lafferty (Betty) of Willis, TX, very close cousin Donna Willen of Farmland, IN, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11-12noon at the Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow at the Hill Crest cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY. Memorials may be sent to the Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Franklin, Ohio 45005.
